Jim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme: DID/DIDN’T/DO/DON’T/DOES/DOESN’T
I have decided to feature a second song again today. I just wanted to share a song that Jack sang to me a few weeks ago. Jack loves to sing. I think he would love to do a Michael Buble style album.
He and I have had a lot to talk about. I thought he disliked me. There were hints that he was attracted to me, but I never ever would have guessed what was going on in his mind. Sometimes I am tempted to rake up so of the occasions when I interpreted his behaviour as hostility. But I have learnt already that it could hurt Jack to cause him to think he damaged me. I don’t want to make him feel guilty.
Sometimes a song is better that a long explanation or account of everything in the past. This is one of those songs. He could not have picked a better one to make me go weak at the knees. He can be a huge romantic when he wants to be. He can serenade me any time he wants to! I am loving it!!!
Many artists have recorded this wonderful song, I am going with Buble…because, well, just because.
Maybe I didn’t treat you
Quite as good as I should have
Maybe I didn’t love you
Quite as often as I could have
Little things I should have said & done
I just never took the time
But you were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
Maybe I didn’t hold you
All those lonely, lonely times
And I guess I never told you
I’m so happy that you’re mine
If I made you feel second best
Girl, I’m sorry I was blind
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
Tell me, tell me that your
Sweet love hasn’t died
Give me, give me one more chance
To keep you satisfied
Satisfied
Little things I should have said & done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

This is a real special song and it is great to hear it again. I was not familiar with the Michael Buble version, but I do recall Elvis and Willie Nelson singing this.

It is a lovely one isn’t it!
I was tempted to go with Elvis, but this one reminded me of the way Jack sang it to me. I think he fancies himself a bit of a Harry Connick Junior or Michael Buble.

That’s a lovely version. I have another one scheduled for later too, one very different to this morning’s.

🙂 With some themes, it is so hard to only pick one song. I try to wait to wait to see what other bloggers choose before I publish my second choice.

Yes I have scheduled mine (I think it goes live in 10 mins) but kept an eye out all day because I didn’t want to duplicate someone else’s choice.

Lovely song. I have heard it by others, and love the sentimental lyrics. 🙂

With me, I have to restrain myself, or I’d be posting dozens.

I remember Willie Nelson’s version. I love the idea of Jack singing this to you, Michael Buble style ❤

I also remember the Pet Shop Boys version which is often on high rotation.
And how good it would be to have Jack and you sing along.
Yeah – the Buble version had not really streaked into my consciousness.
A test of earworms!
