Get On The Bus And Cause No Fuss

bus.jpgJim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme: BUS/TRUCK/LORRY

I listened to lots of songs with the word bus in the title or the lyrics, but I didn’t warm to many of them. I had a list of five I liked in the end, but one stood out to me, so this is my choice. You will be relieved that there is only one song from me in today’s SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY. I am in Wales. “Somebody” drove me up to the Midlands on Friday evening and we stayed over night before I caught the train. All because we are keeping things very quiet at the moment. I would love for my family to know. They are going to be amazed.

back thenLast month I chose a song by the same band I am featuring today. In my post I mentioned that the band became a big influence on a whole generation of men. Their music is still loved by many a middle aged bloke. The song I have chosen today is another one of the songs that won Oasis huge popularity, and in some ways laid the foundation of the attitude that would breed amongst many at the time.

what.jpgI think I mentioned in my last post, I grew tired of the attitude quickly. I guess it can all be summed up in one word “Whatever”. I dread to think how many times a day I muttered that word to my parents and teachers when I went through my brief miserable teenager stage!

Anyway, this was a song me and my friends sang over and over. It mentions bus, which is why it is my pick for today’s SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY.

I’m free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I’ll sing the blues if I want

I’m free to say whatever I
Whatever I like
If it’s wrong or right it’s alright

Always seems to me
You only see what people want you to see
How long’s it gonna be
Before we get on the bus
And cause no fuss
Get a grip on yourself
It don’t cost much

Free to be whatever you
Whatever you say
If it comes my way it’s alright

You’re free to be wherever you
Wherever you please
You can shoot the breeze if you want

It always seems to me
You only see what people want you to see
How long’s it gonna be
Before we get on the bus
And cause no fuss
Get a grip on yourself
It don’t cost much

I’m free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I’ll sing the blues if I want

Here in my mind
You know you might find
Something that you
You thought you once knew
But now it’s all gone
And you know it’s no fun
Yeah I know it’s no fun
Oh I know it’s no fun

I’m free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I’ll sing the blues if I want

I’m free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I’ll sing the blues if I want

Whatever you do
Whatever you say
Yeah I know it’s alright

Whatever you do
Whatever you say
Yeah I know it’s alright

  1. Something about this song reminds me of the Beatles song A Day In A Life, but it is nowhere as good as that, however I did enjoy listening to it. I liked all of the string instruments, but these guys don’t know how to dress.

    1. I can’t say I am a fan of them at all…but they did turn out some great tunes. I don’t like the attitude and behaviour…just the guitar music and especially the songs where they made their music epic by bringing in extra string instruments.
