Two Hearts That Beat As One

Curled up on the campbed in the conservatory at my sister’s home. Feeling confused. It is confusing to be in love with two men.

It feels double hearted, or as if I have two separate hearts. One that beats for a gorgeous man 10,100 miles away, the other that races whenever my soulmate is near me.

But the gorgeous friend, who is 10,100 miles away, said something lovely to me a couple of days ago. He said that naturally the situation will resolve itself. The more time I spend with the man who has very suddenly come back into my life, gradually that love will become stronger and  the other lesser. He has been so kind.

I am one of those people who doesn’t cope well with guilt. Sometimes I have ideals that some might think of as a little childish. So it’s not sitting well with me to have such strong feelings for them both. And because I don’t do guilt at all, I have told them both.

I told my gorgeous Australian about everything that happened from the start. He knows it all. And I told my ex-flatmate that I have been in love for the past couple of years with a wonderful man, and that is hard to let go of him.

Eventually, I want this little heart of mine to settle down. It’s all come with the suddenness of this situation. I have to give it time I guess, for my feelings to calm.

Love Used To Live Here

I was tagged for a TELL THE STORY challenge by rue202 rue202, the creator of Racheal’s Novels , as you can see from her post below:

My head is not great with fiction. And I have given so much attention to my Annabelle Riley story, I was struggling to think of a another story. So instead I thought I would use the picture prompt to explain how I feel whenever I visit historical buildings or sites.

This was the picture prompt I was tagged to TELL THE STORY with:

I imagine what it must have been like when these places had people dwelling within them. Living, working, resting. I wonder what kind of clothes they would have worn, what kind of food they would have eaten. I imagine the whole range of human emotion and activity.

hands1.jpgAmongst the oldest of penned stories and accounts, are tales of love, victory, jealousy and anger. Humans have not really changed. We still have the same feelings as people who lived their lives hundreds of years ago, thousands of years ago.

When I go to The British Museum especially, I see the remnants of mighty empires, and it always strikes me that these civilisations essentially crumbled. They became more “successful” in a material way, and began to enjoy more and more luxuries. But then immorality and corruption began to breed.

Family life broke down. Love turned cold. These once mighty empires crumbled within.

brokeOne of the most important lessons humans need to learn from history is to never let love grow cold. For when love is scarce, we humans crumble. Families shatter, communities segregate, populations suffer, once mighty empires crumble.

“Family is the oldest human institution. In many ways it is the most important. It is society’s most basic unit. Entire civilizations have survived or disappeared, depending on whether family life was strong or weak” – The World Book Encyclopedia (1973)

When I walk amongst the ruins of the past…I think of all the people who once loved within those walls. Love used to live there. Yet love is no longer there.

Get On The Bus And Cause No Fuss

bus.jpgJim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme: BUS/TRUCK/LORRY

I listened to lots of songs with the word bus in the title or the lyrics, but I didn’t warm to many of them. I had a list of five I liked in the end, but one stood out to me, so this is my choice. You will be relieved that there is only one song from me in today’s SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY. I am in Wales. “Somebody” drove me up to the Midlands on Friday evening and we stayed over night before I caught the train. All because we are keeping things very quiet at the moment. I would love for my family to know. They are going to be amazed.

back thenLast month I chose a song by the same band I am featuring today. In my post I mentioned that the band became a big influence on a whole generation of men. Their music is still loved by many a middle aged bloke. The song I have chosen today is another one of the songs that won Oasis huge popularity, and in some ways laid the foundation of the attitude that would breed amongst many at the time.

what.jpgI think I mentioned in my last post, I grew tired of the attitude quickly. I guess it can all be summed up in one word “Whatever”. I dread to think how many times a day I muttered that word to my parents and teachers when I went through my brief miserable teenager stage!

Anyway, this was a song me and my friends sang over and over. It mentions bus, which is why it is my pick for today’s SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY.

I’m free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I’ll sing the blues if I want

I’m free to say whatever I
Whatever I like
If it’s wrong or right it’s alright

Always seems to me
You only see what people want you to see
How long’s it gonna be
Before we get on the bus
And cause no fuss
Get a grip on yourself
It don’t cost much

Free to be whatever you
Whatever you say
If it comes my way it’s alright

You’re free to be wherever you
Wherever you please
You can shoot the breeze if you want

It always seems to me
You only see what people want you to see
How long’s it gonna be
Before we get on the bus
And cause no fuss
Get a grip on yourself
It don’t cost much

I’m free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I’ll sing the blues if I want

Here in my mind
You know you might find
Something that you
You thought you once knew
But now it’s all gone
And you know it’s no fun
Yeah I know it’s no fun
Oh I know it’s no fun

I’m free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I’ll sing the blues if I want

I’m free to be whatever I
Whatever I choose
And I’ll sing the blues if I want

Whatever you do
Whatever you say
Yeah I know it’s alright

Whatever you do
Whatever you say
Yeah I know it’s alright
