It Will All Get Better

People, Woman, Alone, Fashion, Hair, Blonde, SunJim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme: BEST/BETTER/GOOD/GREAT

This could be the BEST theme Jim has ever picked. Although his themes have been getting BETTER over time. They’ve progressed from GOOD to GREAT! See what I did there. Yeah – moving on!

I love blatantly picking a song that reflects the mood I have been in recently. I feel shattered by June. Well…here I am shamelessly picking another song that pulls on the old heart strings. There is one particular line in this song at me that always jumped out “learning to love again”.

I often think about the past five/six years. The situation with Jack and I was so strained five years ago, so damaged, so dire…I don’t think the two of us would have been able to repair it back then even if we had tried.

hirslgdfgIn some ways I needed to let him go so I could heal. In some ways I needed to learn to love again. Meeting Goldfinch helped me do that. Realizing it was ok to be fine without Jack, letting myself smile because I deserved it – that was all important and it all took time.

Timing is often a big factor in the make or break of a relationship. Jack came back into my life right on time. The broken hearted Caramel had been separated from Jack for over four years by then…and a lot of healing had occurred. Caramel was ready for Jack.

I am so glad he is back. Next weekend, his 14 day quarantine will have ended and he is coming over!!! He has given me a shopping list of a few items to find for his BAKE-OFF ideas. I can’t wait!

It’s taken a long time…but Jack is back where he should be.

It’s been the longest winter without you
I didn’t know where to turn to
See, somehow I can’t forget you
After all that we’ve been through

Going, coming, thought I heard a knock
Who’s there? No one
Thinking that I deserve it
Now I realize that I really didn’t know

If you didn’t notice
You mean everything
Quickly I’m learning to love again
All I know is I’mma be OK

Thought I couldn’t live without you
It’s gonna hurt when it heals too
It’ll all get better in time
And even though I really love you
I’m gonna smile ’cause I deserve to
It’ll all get better in time

I couldn’t turn on the TV
Without something there to remind me
Was it all that easy
To just put aside your feelings?

If I’m dreaming don’t wanna laugh
Hurt my feelings but that’s the path
I believe in
And I know that time will heal it

If you didn’t notice
Boy you meant everything
Quickly I’m learning to love again
All I know is I’mma be OK

Thought I couldn’t live without you
It’s gonna hurt when it heals too
It’ll all get better in time
And even though I really love you
I’m gonna smile ’cause I deserve to
It’ll all get better in time

Since there’s no more you and me
(no more you and me)
It’s time I let you go so I can be free
And live my life how it should be
(but I know, but know)
No matter how hard it is I’ll be fine without you
Yes, I will

Thought I couldn’t live without you
It’s gonna hurt when it heals too
It’ll all get better in time
And even though I really love you
I’m gonna smile ’cause I deserve to
Yes, I do
It’ll all get better in time

Thought I couldn’t live without you
It’s gonna hurt when it heals too
It’ll all get better in time
Even though I really love you
Gonna smile ’cause I deserve to
It’ll all get better in time
