Like A Walk In The Rain

Jim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme: RAIN

There are so many beautiful songs that mention rain. Although when I am travelling to work and my umbrella is being blown inside out, rain seems anything but romantic, it would seem that the romantic element of rain has not escaped the notice of some brilliant songwriters.

There were around ten songs I shortlisted for this theme, and I am sure some of them will be featured by other bloggers. But I have picked the one that makes me spirits soar…and right now, I need those things that lift my heart and inspire me.

John Denver’s love song may have been with a woman in mind…but I have to admit, when I hear these lyrics it is my love for this extraordinary planet that bubbles away. More than ever I am looking forward to seeing the removal of greedy, oppressive, destructive, deranged leaders who are showing themselves grossly inadequate and irresponsible to care for people and planet. I look forward to being united with every other member of the human family and working together to make this earth the wonderfully beautiful home it clearly is supposed to be.

You fill up my senses like a night in the forest,
like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain,
like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean.
You fill up my senses, come fill me again.

Come let me love you, let me give my life to you,
let me drown in your laughter, let me die in your arms,
let me lay down beside you, let me always be with you.
Come let me love you, come love me again.

You fill up my senses like a night in the forest,
like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain,
like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean.
You fill up my senses, come fill me again.
