Time For Coffee Flavoured Kisses

Jim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme: CAPPUCCINO/COFFEE/ESPRESSO/LATTE/MOCHA

I found a great song that mentioned coffee for today. When I was a kiddo, my Dad decided that we needed cable. It seems like an age ago. But what I remember is that when he was not watching Sky Sports or EuroSport, we found a show we absolutely loved. “The Monkees“. It was a rock and roll band larking around and having fun, getting into trouble and getting away with it. As a child I had no idea I was watching re-runs and I fell madly in love with Davey Jones!

I loved so many of the songs from The Monkees, and I still have huge soft spot for them. So, I picked their track “Last Train To Clarksville” due to the mention of “coffee flavoured kisses”. I know a lot about those – don’t I Jack!!!

Take the last train to Clarksville
And I’ll meet you at the station
You can be here by four thirty
‘Cause I made your reservation
Don’t be slow, oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!

‘Cause I’m leavin’ in the morning
And I must see you again
We’ll have one more night together
‘Til the morning brings my train
And I must go, oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!
And I don’t know if I’m ever coming home

Take the last train to Clarksville
I’ll be waiting at the station
We’ll have time for coffee flavored kisses
And a bit of conversation
Oh… Oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!

Take the last train to Clarksville
Now I must hang up the phone
I can’t hear you in this noisy
Railroad station all alone
I’m feelin’ low. Oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!
And I don’t know if I’m ever coming home

Take the last train to Clarksville
And I’ll meet you at the station
You can be here by four thirty
‘Cause I made your reservation
Don’t be slow, oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!
And I don’t know if I’m ever coming home

Take the last train to Clarksville
Take the last train to Clarksville
Take the last train to Clarksville
Take the last train to Clarksville
Take the last train to Clarksville…
