We Can’t Neglect The Meat Eaters

Jack mentioned to me yesterday that our picnic so far a vegetarian event. I just happen to be a vegetarian, so there are no complaints from me about that! However, I can assure you that one of our fantastic bloggers has brought some meat to the picnic!

If you like meat, I am sure you will be very glad to see that  Margot Hamilton, the creator of Margot Dreams of Baking, has brought along to the PICNIC these amazing pulled pork sandwiches on homemade buns with coleslaw.

Margot please forgive me…the BAKING and PICNIC creations are testing my ability to make a musical connection. I chose this song because I was struggling to think of a song, but I am not saying pulled pork is greasy…or is it? I have no idea!

But it is such a fun track for a SUMMER PICNIC – don’t you think!!!

If You Like Pizza, You Will Love Pide

One of Jack’s proudest accomplishments is that he may have tried every Turkish restaurant in North London. So he was very enthusiastic about the next delight we have for you.

 Margot Hamilton, the creator of Margot Dreams of Baking, has proved herself a true Queen in the kitchen, as you can see from her amazing photos this weekend. This is Turkish Pide, which is essentially pizza shaped like a boat. Margot created two delicious different varieties, one with Cheese and Olives (which would be perfect for me Margot!) and one with a Beef Kofte filling.

Jack has promised to take me to a Turkish restaurant up in Haringey, where he says I can try pide for myself. Jack taking me on a date in Haringey…I must be in love!

Well…even though we are talking Turkish pizza in this case…it was so much easier to find a song with a link to pizza than it was pide! Fast forward to 3:15 to discover the pizza connection!

 

 

Welcome To Canada!

It is Day Two of THE GREAT BLOGGERS’ BAKE-OFF 2020 SUMMER PICNIC and we have another amazing day packed full of BAKING and PICNIC creations. Just wait to see what we have in store!

After our party last night, we wanted to start Sunday morning on a serene note. We have our fabulous  Margot Hamilton, the creator of Margot Dreams of Baking, starting off Day Two with Canadian Butter Tarts.

I was so pleased when I saw these because I grew up near a town named Wigan (famous for pies) and one of the most popular pies back home is a Butter Pie. So to see that Canada has a Butter Tart is awesome!

The Perfect Fuel To Dance The Night Away

What an awesome party this is turning out to be! I hope you are loving the the incredible creations of the WordPress bloggers who have taken part as much as we have! Well…Jack and I have been burning calories this evening, so it is more than time to top up our energy levels with an yummy treat that will help us keep dancing until the early hours of the morning!

I did not dare to ask  Margot Hamilton, the creator of Margot Dreams of Baking, how many calories were in her tempting Chocolate peanut butter bars with chocolate-salted caramel-peanut crust. Jack and I love peanut butter (one of my first ever posts was about how Jack devoured an entire batch of peanut butter cookies I had baked) and when I showed Jack this picture, he asked me if I would make some for him.

Strawberries And Cream Forever

For those of you who remember last year’s GREAT BLOGGERS’ BAKE-OFF, the next BAKING creation may bring back memories! Last year we asked you to create a Sandwich cake, with any flavours, ingredients or decorations you wanted. This year we know it has not been easy to find baking essentials at supermarkets, so we have a more open theme so that everyone can get involved.

But we were absolutely delighted to see what  Margot Hamilton, the creator of Margot Dreams of Baking, had made. Look at her gorgeous Strawberry Cream Cake. The perfect way to celebrate summer!

Here in London, we lost a great excuse to eat strawberries and cream for two weeks when Wimbledon Tennis Championships had to be cancelled. But strawberries and cream are an absolute must for any summertime picnic and we are thrilled Margot has brought them to THE GREAT BLOGGERS’ BAKE-OFF 2020 SUMMER PICNIC!
