Bee, the creator of The Bee Writes…, is hosting a music festival, which I have to say, is pretty darn tootin cool! Don’t you think! By the looks of things her themes for this month long festival are going to rival Glastonbury!
Today’s theme is:
A pop song about love

There are so many pop songs about love! But I want to pick another Sigala track. Full of energy and excitement! That’s the kind of love I like, love that energises you!
I have been a London for ten years. There are always places to discover, but I do feel as if I know my way around pretty well now. My turf is Hampstead, Highgate and Muswell Hill (and surrounding areas). I have family in Crouch End and Battersea. I have friends all over London, and I also work on projects all over the city. So I regularly criss cross London. So London is the subject of today’s song.

A love song that contains a location
This is Bee’s post featuring today’s LOVE IS IN DA BLOG theme:
I have picked a song about London. It mentions my own turf – Highgate. It also mentions a whole host of London locations that my feet grace on a regular basis, Camden, Shoreditch, Bond Street, the West End, and yes I admit I occasionally have to go to Hackney and Brixton too. Last week, when I was in Brixton…I was in the same building as a certain someone. But that is for another post…which will stay buried in my drafts folder until it becomes irrelevant.
Aaaaah! How I long for summer! The blue skies, the lush foliage, wandering around in shorts and sandals and eating rip strawberries…aaaaah sigh!

A song with love & flowers
This is Bee’s post for today’s LOVE IS IN DA BLOG theme:
There is a line in this song that I love. The singer thanks roses for saying what he couldn’t say. I must admit there have been one or two men in my life who did not make it obvious at all that they had any partiality for me. But when they sent me a bouquet of roses…well I was rather discombobulated!
So, if you are they type to get all sweaty palmed and nervous when confessing your admiration for someone, you could always try the roses option. Even if it is a NO (and I have to admit, I said no to the men who sent me roses randomly) at least they will think of you very fondly as that sweet man who sent a bunch of flowers. Well, just don’t send a creepy message, otherwise it could backfire. Send the roses and a simple message, something like you have been trying to find a way to ask them out for a drink, or something. I don’t know, don’t listen to my advice! Every woman is different. Some women would think you were charming, others would think you were a creep. It’s hard to tell nowadays. You have to be a little bit thick-skinned and if a woman freaks out just because you asked them out…move along dear friend, move along!

I have chosen to feature a performance from The Brit Awards a few years ago. I couldn’t really use the video, as is a bit to excitable for my WordPress blog!
Well…as soon as I saw the word HURT, I knew exactly which song I was going to choose. I absolutely love this track! It surely conveys how much love can break our hearts at times!

Well…I remember school. Yeah, I wasn’t particularly impressed with school. But I escaped! There was some pretty decent music around at the time. We had already had the best of Britpop, but the year I was leaving school, one of the big Britpop bands had something else up their sleeves for us.

My first choice was Oleta Adams, but I decided to choose something different as I thought she would be a very popular choice. Instead I have gone for one of my favourite songs! I cannot tell you how much fun we have had with this song over the years.

There are so many songs I could have chosen. But today I have chosen a song with the kind of energy and excitement that I have felt of late. Loving Jack is sweet. He is sweet!
Oh the wind and rain battering against my window last night, as Storm Dennis the Menace hovered over the UK. It’s not as bad here as elsewhere though. And…I was so tired, that I slept nine hours right through the worst of the storm. Well…I am looking forward to fairer weather and spring making it’s claim on these gentle shores.

A song about love in spring
This is Bee’s post for today’s LOVE IS IN DA BLOG Music Festival:
I am sooooooooooooooooo excited about spring! It is on the door step. I can feel it in the air. The camellias arrived mid January and we have roses in the garden already. It is wonderful!
Well my song choice for today has changed several times. But yesterday I was listening to this song, wishing that I had either Jack besides me, or Goldfinch. I just wanted to lay close to one of them and be allowed to forget the rest of the world.
I chose this one because of the “show me a garden bursting into life” lyric. The song is not necessarily about spring, but it is about love, a longing for someone to share the core of our existence with while the world outside demands and demands more and more. Well, that’s my interpretation anyway!
