Jim Adams aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme: SWAMP ROCK

I have heard of swamp rock, but am really only familiar with tracks that were influenced by swamp rock sounds. I think some of Ocean Colour Scene’s music had swamp rock influences. I listened to some tracks labelled as Swamp Rock on YouTube and I have decided I quite like this sound.
Most of the songs I saw listed on Swamp Rock playlists were completely new to me. But there was one song that did seem familiar. I quickly realized that it was actually a Beatles track, but recorded by another artist Gary Clark Jr, in a Swamp Rock style. I have chosen a live performance, as the official video was a bit over excitable for my liking (it had clips from some violent film).
I really like the idea of taking a famous song and giving it a whole different style.
Here come old flat-top, he come grooving up slowly He got ju-ju eyeballs, he's one holy roller He got hair down to his knees Got to be a joker, he just do what he please He wear no shoeshine, he's got toe-jam football He got monkey finger, he shoot Coca-Cola He say, "I know you, you know me" One thing I can tell you is you got to be free Come together, right now Over me He roller-coaster, he got early warning He got muddy water, he one mojo filter He say, "One and one and one is three" Got to be good looking 'cause he's so hard to see Come together, right now Over me Come together, right now Come together, right now Come together, right now Over me Written by: John Lennon and Paul McCartney
