Suddenly Your Sycophants Are Chanting

This week we are embracing a realm of music I have little awareness of. But from the list of bands and artists who have been thrust under the umnrella of “Paisley Underground” I instantly recognized The Bangles (for a short while they were called The Bangs).

I read some interesting comments from the band members explaining how great it was to find somewhat of a niche or a community and they seemed to be very pleased to be identified with the Paisley Underground music scene.

I found this track on a Highlights of Paisley Underground list of tracks on YouTube. I cannot remember hearing it before, and the video is pretty fun. So…without further ado, I will let you listen to “Her Takes A Fall”.

The hero is exposed when
his crimes are brought to the light of day
Won't be feeling sorry,sorry,sorry
on the judgement day
It wasn't me who said
There'll be a price to pay
And I won't feel bad at all
When the hero takes a fall

Your mother told you stories
You substitute with girls who tell you more
Suddenly your sycophants are chanting
slogans at your door
We're seeing you through now
I saw it all before
And I won't feel bad at all
When the hero takes a fall

Emotion is a virtue
For you it is the ole fatal flaw
Sitting on your throne
Drinking and thinking
She'll return your call
Every story's got an ending
Look out ! Here it comes, here it comes
And I won't feel bad at all
When the hero takes a fall
