I am in an odd sort of place right now. If I use the term “limbo”, I think you may know what I mean. Its the sense of change in front of me.
Today I realized that two of my colleagues are not going to be around next week when it would have been my last opportunity to see them…which meant that today was “goodbye”….or as I prefer “see you later”. After all I only live a few minutes away. I will be popping by to say “hello”.
It’s a weird time. I am so fond of the team I have been working with for the past two and a half years. We have been through so much together – the Pandemic was no small challenge! We have supported and encouraged one another.
We are in a good place right now in many ways. Strong, well-trained team, with lovely qualities and a great team spirit. Now….at a good time…I am leaving…setting sail into the unknown.

Life…so often it feels like a voyage. Storms….calm waters….you are never really sure what is ahead. But it is ok….at this point….I am a well-seasoned, well-travelled voyager. I know there will be trials, tribulations ahead…..but I also know that there are joys on the horizon – real, real deep joys.
It’s that feeling of the unknown that is a little daunting!!
I have a feeling that this year will be full of changes…

You can do it, Mel! I am happy you say that the pandemic “was” no small challenge. Do you think you are turning a corner there? Or are you just comparing to last year? I’m curious from your perspective.

Hello Gentleman Dave. Thank you for your comment.
I am with a lovely friend of mine who has been asleep almost the entire day apparently. I am staying over tonight (very much a last minute thing to help our friend Annette with her latest project and because my Jack is at a charity social bash).
She seemed more excited to hear I had a comment from you than she was to see me.
So first I am going to send her love to you.
Now…as this is my blog, I will try to answer your question. I first read it on Friday evening after work, and I was so tired I did not understand the question. But I think I do now. Do you mean turning a corner as regards the Pandemic? I don’t think we are out of the woods yet, no, not at all. But at work, we are in a much stronger place than we were at the start of the Pandemic when we had hardly any clue what we were doing!
We don’t know really what is ahead, but I think we have a strong team who have done an amazing job throughout the Pandemic, and we seemed to cope better with the craziness we had here in December. Things seem to be settling a little bit here in the UK. Perhaps some people are becoming too relaxed. I am still being careful, face-masking, I had my three jabs, I am still avoiding packed venues. But there are things that I am doing that I did not do for a lot of the Pandemic – like hugging friends. Hugs while wearing face-masks and having been jabbed seem less dangerous than they used to. 🙂
OK…now I am being told to ask how you are.
I am not sure how long I can bombard you with questions though. Unlike some people….I have been awake, working all day long and I need my sleep. So I will excuse myself, and if you want to reply I will stay logged in on this phone so she can reply to you.

Hi Mel! I’m sorry my comments were not very clear. Yes, I meant the pandemic, and your answer was definitely what I was looking for. Thank you for that! How’s our mutual friend doing? Please give my love to her as well, and tell her that she certainly need not respond to me on your blog! But if you wouldn’t mind, please relay the message that I’m fine, I miss her very much, and look forward to catching up next month. I’m happy to know she is in good hands there with a close friend. 😊

Hi GD,
We are just about to have lunch here. I am sure Sleeping Beauty will be pleased to see your message when she is awake. Her internal clock seems busted. Ben said she was awake most of the night.
