Seven Things About Me
I never know what will be of any interest to anyone else. So I am going to try to have the theme of SEVEN to give me some inspiration:
I take a UK size 7 shoes.
I am one of seven siblings.
I was courted by a lovely young man for seven years. I ended the relationship when I was convinced we could make each other very unhappy. That was a really hard decision for me. But I have always been sure that it was absolutely the right decision.
I live on my own at the moment but I have seven tall latte mugs which I love. I drink a lot!
I have had seven wedding invitations from friends who are getting married this year. Three weddings I have been to, one is just before I go to Australia, two I am going to miss because they are while I am in Australia, and there is another a couple of weeks after I return.
When I was seven years old, the primary school I attended was burnt down by three former students. (One was eleven, the other two were fourteen.) For the next three years we had to go to the site of the remaining rubble of our school where double-decker buses would drive us to the other side of town where we were allowed to use some spare classrooms within a high school. Then it was my time to leave primary school and start at high school myself. But I went to an entirely different high school in another town all together.
I love the theme tune to “The Magnificent Seven“…and if you are not familiar with it, here it is for your enjoyment!
Congratulations

Spooky my school was partly burnt out when I was at primary school by a kid called Tommy. The Firemen were on strike so the army came in a Green Goddess to put it out.

It’s so sad. In the town I grew up in, while I was at primary school, there were a lot of primary schools damaged by students.
Our entire primary school was destroyed, so we were sent on buses to a high school on the other side of town. Across the road was a catholic high school. There was a catholic primary school that had been destroyed by former students and their students were all transported on buses to spare classrooms in the catholic high school.
There was another primary school partially destroyed when students set it on fire. Fortunately the fire was stemmed so they only lost a couple of classrooms so they all had to squish up a bit.
Then another primary school was almost completely destroyed.
I don’t think those buildings could possible have been built with any decent fire proofing (built in the seventies I believe) and I think once one school was set alight by kids…others copied. So sad. Cost a fortune to rebuild and repair the damage and it also effected the lives of all these little children who were being sent all over the town miles away from home to have their schooling.
