Taste Your Sweet Kisses

Jim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme: SONGS REFERRING TO SEX….or something like that.

So…..songs about sex…..sorry, but some of the worst songs ever were about sex. So I have decided to pick one of the best pop productions EVER which refers to making love, which is what most woman want sex to be – making love. You may not share my opinion – lol – but I have done an NHS training course on this and well, most of us of a healthy state of mind like to enjoy sex within a loving relationship. I know I am hopelessly not up to date with what I am told are called the “rabbit holes” of different views….but you know something….I am happy to stay in the blissful ignorance of making love to the man of my dreams.

Well….that’s enough of how old fashioned I am! (What makes me laugh is that in the course of my private healthcare and NHS career I have seen and clinically handled more of other people’s intimate parts and googley-wotsits than you can possible imagine! I have also worn more latex – in the form of gloves – than most people wear in a lifetime!)

I am going to reveal my song choice….one of my favourite ever pop songs….a karaoke favourite….the ultimate song of tea-breaks with the girls….yes, yes it is Cyndi Lauper singing “I Drove All Night (To Make Love To You)”!!! Yayyyyy!

I had to escape
The city was sticky and cruel
Maybe I should have called you first
But I was dying to get to you
I was dreaming while I drove
The long straight road ahead, uh, huh

Could taste your sweet kisses
Your arms open wide
This fever for you is just burning me up inside

I drove all night to get to you
Is that alright
I drove all night
Crept in your room
Woke you from your sleep
To make love to you
Is that alright
I drove all night

What in this world
Keep us from tearing apart
No matter where I go I hear
The beating of your heart
I think about you
When the night is cold and dark
No one can move me
The way that you do
Nothing erases the feeling between me and you

I drove all night to get to you
Is that alright
I drove all night
Crept in your room
Woke you from your sleep
To make love to you
Is that alright
I drove all night

Could taste your sweet kisses
Your arms open wide
This fever for you is just burning me up inside

I drove all night to get to you
Is that alright
I drove all night
Crept in your room
Woke you from your sleep
To make love to you
I drove all night… to hold you tight
