There Ain’t No Danger We Can Go Too Far

Jim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the truly delightful theme: DANGER/FEAR/HORROR/NIGHTMARE/TERROR

We have a friend who claims his worst horror, his absolute nightmare is being dragged along by his wife to watch a musical. She loves theatre, ballet, musicals, and dance. He likes sport or a good book. I asked him once, “what about Grease?” I thought Grease was the musical that even people who don’t like musicals enjoy. But no – he said he cannot bear it when the actors start singing and dancing. He prefers real life stories and film.

Well…it his his sentiments that are behind my song choice for today, which is Frankie Valli singing “Grease” and the video below shows the opening credits for the musical movie sensation.

I solve my problems and I see the light
We got a lovin’ thing, we gotta feed it right
There ain’t no danger we can go too far
We start believing now that we can be who we are
Grease is the word

They think our love is just a growing pain
Why don’t they understand, it’s just a crying shame
Their lips are lying, only real is real
We stop the fight right now, we got to be what we feel
Grease is the word

(Grease is the word, is the word that you heard)
It’s got a groove, it’s got a meaning
Grease is the time, is the place, is the motion
Grease is the way we are feeling

We take the pressure and we throw away
Conventionality belongs to yesterday
There is a chance that we can make it so far
We start believing now that we can be who we are
Grease is the word

(Grease is the word, is the word that you heard)
It’s got a groove, it’s got a meaning
Grease is the time, is the place, is the motion
Now, grease is the way we are feeling

This is a life of illusion
Wrapped up in trouble
Laced with confusion
What are we doing here?

We take the pressure and we throw away
Conventionality belongs to yesterday
There is a chance that we can make it so far
We start believing now that we can be who we are (be who we are)
Grease is the word

(Grease is the word, is the word that you heard)
It’s got a groove, it’s got a meaning
Grease is the time, is the place, is the motion
Now, grease is the way we are feeling

(Grease is the word, is the word that you heard)
It’s got a groove, it’s got a meaning
Grease is the time, is the place, is the motion
Now, grease is the way we are feeling

Grease is the word
Is the word…
