Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa

Jim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme: MA (title of song must start with the letter M or A)

Oh so very many songs came to mind today. So many…that I only decided a couple of days ago which song to pick (I usually prepare my posts weeks in advance). Eventually I chose a song that I listened to again recently and was struck by how much I enjoy this song – “Mona Lisa“.

That puurrrrfect voice from Nat King Cole and the orchestra combine to create a gorgeous number.

Do I have a personal connection to report to you this week? Not really….except…my sister Milly looks so much like Leonardo De Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” – it is almost freaky. As soon as she hit her teens the resemblance was clear, especially because Milly has a habit of keeping her lips pressed together, just like the famous model. Even now, I am looking at the image – and all I see is my sister Milly.

Strange hey! But this post is not about paintings….it’s all about music…what a stunning track this is. Absolutely sensational for a Sunday.

Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa, men have named you
You’re so like the lady with the mystic smile
Is it only ’cause you’re lonely they have blamed you?
For that Mona Lisa strangeness in your smile?

Do you smile to tempt a lover, Mona Lisa?
Or is this your way to hide a broken heart?
Many dreams have been brought to your doorstep
They just lie there and they die there

Are you warm, are you real, Mona Lisa?
Or just a cold and lonely lovely work of art?

Do you smile to tempt a lover, Mona Lisa?
Or is this your way to hide a broken heart?
Many dreams have been brought to your doorstep
They just lie there and they die there

Are you warm, are you real, Mona Lisa?
Or just a cold and lonely lovely work of art?

Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa
