The Romantic Side To The Harmonica

Harmonica, Boy, Kids, Musician, Western, Country HouseJim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme: A SONG WITH  HARMONICA

Well…I have a lovely track for you, as well as a great movie moment. The film is Dirty Dancing, which has a might fine soundtrack. This main character is known as Baby to family and friends. In this scene, Johnny is trying to help Baby, who is brand new to dance, to push past all her nerves and stress as she tries to learn the complicated dance routine she is learning to help both him and his friend and fellow dance instructor Penny.

I guess the first lesson is balance! They end up dancing on a log than spans ravine below! Then they move on to practicing the lifts that Baby is struggling with! It’s all so exciting and romantic!

Hey, hey baby
I wanna know
If you’ll be my girl

Hey, hey baby
I wanna know
If you’ll be my girl

When I saw you walking down the street
I said that’s the kind of gal I’d like to meet
She’s so pretty, Lord, she’s fine
I’m gonna make her mine all mine

Hey, hey baby
I wanna know
If you’ll be my girl

When you turned and walked away
That’s when I want to say
Come on, baby, give me a whirl
I wanna know if you’ll be my girl

Hey, hey baby
I wanna know
If you’ll be my girl

When you turned and walked away
That’s when I want to say
Come on, baby, give me a whirl
I wanna know if you’ll be my girl

Hey, hey baby
I wanna know
If you’ll be my girl

  1. Perfect choice for today! This is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time. I mean…swoon over Patrick Swayze. I went to see it in the theater when it came out. Had to get a babysitter for my 2 babies to go see it. My son was 13 months only and my daughter was only 2 months old. They are 34 & 33 now. WOW! Just realized that. 🙂 Feeling oldish now.

    1. lol – but it is a movie that hardly seems to age.
The only thing I think when I watch it is…nobody is staring at their mobile phone….nope, they are actually out there living.

      1. So true! We live in a different world these days. Last September, we didn’t have internet access for 12 days…or very limited and it allow us to enjoy Yellowstone & Grand Tetons without our devices except to take photos. No communication for much of every day. It was great to unplug! 🙂

    1. Thanks Li. I often to watch more than a few minutes, but they seem to broadcast DD around once a month over here. Sometimes I have come home and I will sit down to have a cuppa before having a shower and there they are dancing away.
