We are kicking off THE GREAT BLOGGERS’ BAKE-OFF 2020 with a cake!!! Yayyyyyy!!! Not just any cake. Our first cake had me drooling as soon as I saw it.
Tandy Sinclair, the creator of Lavender and Lime, made this seductive combination of Brownie Chocolate Cake with Baked Masala Figs. Is there any better way to start the day than with chocolate brownie cake?!!! Oh today is going to be a very very good day!
I thought Tandy’s baking creation looked incredibly classy and romantic. If I saw this on the dessert menu I would be completely hooked! I have been looking at the posts on Tandy’s website. Wow! Exactly the kind of recipes my sweet tooth falls for! Am I allowed to say this is the sexiest cake we have in our BAKE-OFF (although we do have a naked woman in the line up…don’t worry this is a family event…you won’t see anything rude…unless you count Gary’s baking creations)!!!
Tandy, thank you so much for starting off the BAKING CONTEST with such a magnificent flavour combination. What a beautiful start to a weekend packed with amazing BAKING and PICNIC creations from the greatest of WordPress bloggers!
Blush. Thank you for the lovely write up. I’m excited to see all the contributions.

Your cake was such a beautiful start to THE BAKE-OFF!
Jack has a real thing about figs. We were looking at recipes for a fig tart that he wants us to try and make. I asked him if we could start by trying your baked masala figs. They sound delicious.

They look so good. I am a little nervous because I haven’t cooked/baked with figs. I have eaten them, but whenever I try something new, I try to start small.
