Just Because It’s Over Doesn’t Mean It’s Really Over

Coffee, Cup, Cappuccino, BreakI have been chatting with Jack and my family and now I need to do all of  my housework. Somehow I skipped my coffee this morning and now I am feeling a bit slow. The day seems to be almost over before I have even begun! Is it too late for coffee? Well…I think I need one before I start work. Dear me…I haven’t eaten yet either. Where is the day going?

When I read Jim’s post about American stated “opening up”, I thought gulp! The first thing that came into my head was a line from a song that fits today’s theme “JUST BECAUSE IT’S OVER DOESN’T MEAN IT’S REALLY OVER!”

Jim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme: END/FINISH/OVER/STOP

I love guitars, so I have no idea why I am featuring so much pop music today. Perhaps it’s because of my new dance workouts I do at home. This is a song that would not be my cup of tea at all…except for it striking a chord with me. Afterall, Jack came back (well, he is in Africa right now, but you know what I mean). It was not over! People may have thought it was all over, but it wasn’t really over. You see why this song makes me smile!

Belly, Heart, Love, Girl, RelaxationThe video is odd, but I figured out the story of the video is that to get over a break up the young woman goes to some sort of weird retreat where they try all sorts of bizarre therapies to help her get over her heartbreak. However…

…it seems clear that none of the therapy works…and at the end of the video the first person she can think of is him! Well, that’s how I interpreted it anyway!

Thank you Jack…not a day goes by when I do not say THANK YOU in my heart, that you picked up the phone and made contact. I love that Sunday mornings are my special time with you. I miss you lots!!! Come back safe and sound.

I’m losing my self control
Yeah, you’re starting to trickle back in
But I don’t wanna fall down the rabbit hole
Cross my heart, I won’t do it again

I tell myself, tell myself, tell myself, draw the line
And I do I do
But once in a while I trip up and I cross the line
And I think of you

Two years and just like that
My head still takes me back
Thought it was done, but I
Guess it’s never really over
Oh, we were such a mess
But wasn’t it the best?
Thought it was done, but I
Guess it’s never really over

Just because it’s over doesn’t mean it’s really over
And if I think it over, maybe you’ll be coming over again
And I’ll have to get over you all over again
Just because it’s over doesn’t mean it’s really over
And if I think it over, maybe you’ll be coming over again
And I’ll have to get over you all over again

I guess I could try hypnotherapy
I gotta rewire this brain
‘Cause I can’t even go on the internet
Without even checking your name

I tell myself, tell myself, tell myself, draw the line
And I do I do
But once in a while I trip up and I cross the line
And I think of you

Two years and just like that
My head still takes me back
Thought it was done, but I
Guess it’s never really over
Oh, we were such a mess
But wasn’t it the best?
Thought it was done, but I
Guess it’s never really over

Just because it’s over doesn’t mean it’s really over
And if I think it over, maybe you’ll be coming over again
And I’ll have to get over you all over again
Just because it’s over doesn’t mean it’s really over
And if I think it over, maybe you’ll be coming over again
And I’ll have to get over you all over again

Thought we kissed goodbye
Thought we meant this time
Was the last, but I guess it’s never really over
Thought we drew the line
Right through you and I
Can’t keep going back
I guess it’s never really over

Two years and just like that
My head still takes me back
Thought it was done, but I
Guess it’s never really over

Just because it’s over doesn’t mean it’s really over
And if I think it over, maybe you’ll be coming over again
And I’ll have to get over you all over again
(And I’ll have to get over you all over again)
Just because it’s over doesn’t mean it’s really over
And if I think it over, maybe you’ll be coming over again
And I’ll have to get over you all over again
(Over you all over again)

Thought we kissed goodbye
Thought we meant this time
Was the last, but I guess it’s never really over
Thought we drew the line
Right through you and I
Can’t keep going back
I guess it’s never really over
