I do not want to be arguing with Jack. He did not approve of my earlier choice for today’s SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY theme. Yes, I will admit, his choice is better than mine. But I am allowed to choose which songs to feature – am I not!
I told Jack that I had a feeling that were would be a lot of songs about being in the arms of your loved one – which is wonderful. I was just trying to think a little outside of the box. But he still would have preferred to feature a song that was worthy of more credit in his eyes. Jack can be very persuasive when he wants to be. I kind of like him being bossy about stuff like this. It gives me plenty of opportunities to tease him.

Because I love Jack, I am going to overlook his criticism. This is his top pick for today’s SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY. He has chosen “Died In Your Arms” by Cutting Crew, undeniably a superb track. We are not going to argue about whether Jack or I has better taste in music. (He would win that one I am afraid.)

I don’t really know Cutting Crew at all, but I do know this song. This is the kind of thing Jack loves, although he likes so much music.
Yes…his music tastes often do reveal his age. I do love the older man in my life 😀

The other one I’m thinking of was I’ve Been In Love Before, which is a very different song. I liked it at the time but far too … for me now (I’ll let you fill in the gap!). They had those 2 hits within a few months of each other iirc but I don’t remember anything else they ever did.

Jack ought to start his own blog IF he wants to participate. You, m’am should post what you want, as it’s your blog. And I’m a romance GRINCH so if Jack happens to read my comment and say what a pushy and outspoken old broad I am, well then there’s that as a reason. Arms aren’t winning just FYI, LEGS are. And my choice of both (I did legs, and found to my dismay that two others had chosen the exact same song), so I chose an Arms song that is about someone being dumped, it’s not about love at all…well spurned love maybe. Sorry if this is a Debbie Downer comment, I just hate pushy men. Um… 😐

I think I am the one who is a bit pushy with him. He wanted to start a WordPress account weeks ago, as soon as I showed him SLS, but I told him it was a bad idea. His mum has a WP account though.
Music is one of the things we tease each other about. We tease each other a lot Melanie. He is so sweet with me. I like him being a bit bossy. He was a bit timid in the way he treated me at first. I like to to look up to him. Goldfinch had a slightly bossy side to him at times, which I liked.
I don’t like bossiness to be a man’s dominant attitude. But I like to see it at times – it’s kind of sexy (lol – am I allowed to say that?) both of them Goldfinch and Jack have been very lovely to me.

Mel, I like this song ok, but I liked your choice better this week. One’s musical taste is what it is, it would be like trying to argue over which was better, peanut butter cookies or chocolate chip cookies. Both are delicious.

I like it when Jack and I quibble over silly little things. It is so much fun. We are in agreement about a lot of big things. So finding something to tease each other about makes for a playful evening 🙂
