Slowly Shifting Gently Drifting

gently driftingOoooops! scheduled my SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY post almost a month ago (although I did add a few bits since I first chose the song), and I didn’t see until after I had published it that Jim was going to feature it. Well, I guess it won’t be the first time we have doubled up on songs.

Jim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme: DRIFTER/LONER/VAGABOND

Well, this was the other song I mentioned I had thought of, although I have been worried it is a bit too niche. I liked the band Menswear back in the Britpop era. Again, it was the guitars. I was such a sucker for guitars! I had an album and saw them play live. This track “Daydreamer”, was probably my favourite song from their album “Nuisance”. It’s been a very long time since I listened to any of their music. I have no idea what happened to those boys.

Still the word drifter sent my mind back in time to this song. Not my cup of tea nowadays. It may or may not be your cup of tea. But I guess that is what SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY is all about hey! So, we will give it a spin and then put it to rest for another twenty years shall we?

Slowly shifting, gently drifting
In your arms, I’m quietly breathing
Silent dreaming, thinking, yearning
Hoping for a better journey
Understanding what I’m planning
You’re so blind you flounder drowning

Moving closer, floating over
Sinking into seas of colour
Feeling lighter, darker, brighter
Consciousness begins to falter
Holding you I start to wonder
Pull you out or drag you under

Breathe deeper…… daydreamer

Slowly shifting, gently drifting
In your arms, I’m quietly breathing
Silent dreaming, thinking, yearning
Hoping for a better journey
Understanding what I’m planning
You’re so blind you flounder drowning

Breathe deeper…… daydreamer

Moving closer, floating over
Sinking into seas of colour
Feeling lighter, darker, brighter
Consciousness begins to falter
Holding you I start to wonder
Pull you out or drag you under

    1. I schedule all the time! I don’t think I could handle blogging without the scheduling feature. I normally have a couple of hours spare once or twice a week when I can sit down and type out a bunch of posts and then I schedule them to be published – one a day usually.

Occasionally I find myself with a bit of time to type up a post and publish it. There are 60 posts in my drafts folder, each of which need about ten minutes to check them over and format them.

Then when I am travelling around the big smoke, I can read and like and sometimes comment. Otherwise blogging would be impossible.

      1. Yes, I’ve noticed already that I have several posts in Drafts, not so many as you, but they just sit there until I put them live manually.
Is there now internet on the tube? I vaguely remember there was some debate when I last used it, but after 7/7 people were paranoid.
