Doing Something You Don’t Really Want To Do

As the weekend draws and I look forward to welcoming Goldfinch into my arms for the lat time…

Some special moments ahead! Only I am dreading the heartache when I see him disappear from me at Heathrow Airport. It’s going to be awful!

…My focus right now is on making these last moments with Goldfinch the most wonderful of all our time together. Sigh.

I don’t know how I am going to bear this….

  1. My husband use to sail ship and go away for weeks or moths at a time. Each time he left I could only pray that we would see each other again. My best advice is to live in the moment.

    1. Thank you πŸ™‚

I should probably explain that this post was originally published in December last year a few days before Goldfinch moved back over to Australia. I thought I would never see him again, and that he would be an abysmal penpal and forget all about me. It turned out he was much better at keeping in touch than expected, and I was able to go out and spend the summer with him (well it was winter in Australia) six months after he had gone.

It’s really hard being so far away from him. But I hope that at least once a year I will be able to travel over to see him. I hope he will come here too.

  2. You are so strong, my dear!!
I hope you make even more memories that can bring some comfort to you in the days ahead. As everyone has already mentioned, try to live in the moment, make the most of the time you have together now. ❀

    My thoughts are with you!!
