The Morning After The Night Before

The first time Goldfinch came to visit me in London…

…the morning after the night before, I woke up and made my way into the kitchen and made him poached eggs with Parma ham and hollandaise sauce served on toasted English muffins.

If he wasn’t sure before, he now knew, he had a good thing going. And so began a very lovely year or so of me planning meals to prepare for gorgeous Goldfinch and he giving me endlessly wonderful days and nights.

I have always loved how much he likes to hold me. I did not realize how much I love to be held, embraced, hugged. It is a wonderful place to be – in his arms.
