Jim Adams, aka Newepicauthor, the creator of A Unique Title For Me, is hosting SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY and this week he has chosen the theme BOOGIE/ROCK/ROLLING STONE.
I am not going to say too much about this song, because it speaks for itself. Fantastic tune with the chorus lyrics and plenty of guitars. And this is not Britney…nope, it’s Joan! Joan Jett and The Blackhearts!
I have to say “ciao for now”, because I am going to be running round all day. Not in the London Marathon, but won’t be far off doing what they are doing.
I knew he must have been about seventeen
The beat was going strong
Playing my favourite song
And I could tell it wouldn’t be long till he was with me, yeah me
And I could tell it wouldn’t be long till he was with me, yeah me
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with me
But that don’t matter, he said, ’cause it’s all the same
He said, “Can I take you home
Where we can be alone?”
And next we were moving on, he was with me, yeah me
Next we were moving on, he was with me, yeah me
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with me
Where we can be alone?”
Next we’re moving on, he was with me, yeah me
And we’ll be moving on and singing that same old song, yeah with me
Singing, I love rock and roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with me
I love rock and roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with
I love rock and roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with
I love rock and roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with
I love rock and roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock and roll
So come and take your time and dance with me

I love this song. LOL I remembered 95% of the lyrics when it came on the radio after not having heard it for well over a decade at least. 🙂

It’s great isn’t it…I think it’s as fresh as a daisy, has not aged at all.

It is such a great song…I think I was barely a twinkle in mum and dad’s eyes when this song was first released 🙂

It’s a good song for just singing along at the top of your lungs and letting go – especially with your rockin’ friends. 🙂
Takes me back to wilder times… i’ve tamed since then. 😉

It’s a top song. Maybe with June in mind you should do a bit of AC/DC……

I don’t know AC/DC at all. Maybe my brother would have, I don’t know. He liked Guns N Roses, Nirvana, Bon Jovi.
