You are in for a treat with the cake from our next blogger msjadeli – Tao Talk who has made perhaps our most decadent cake so far!
Have you ever tasted a Guinness cake? The chocolate sponge is made with Guinness which results an a deliciously moist deep flavoured chocolate cake. The frosting is made with Irish cream liqueur. And then over the top is a layer of chocolate that smothers the top and drizzles down the side.
For the full recipe and more photos of this seductive cake, here is the post Li created featuring her wonderful creation:
The gorgeous Guinness cake has left me feeling very Irish and I am wondering if after a slice of this cake whether I would be able to walk in a straight line!
It reminds me of a song we used to sing in our music lessons in primary school!
I don’t know if you have ever tried a Guinness cake Sadje but it makes a very rich moist deep chocolate cake – it’s hard to explain how completely gorgeous it is.
Nigella featured a recipe that became extremely popular with home bakers and I have tried it many times. I love Li’s version because it has even more chocolate poured all over the top. It would be incredibly decadent – which is what cake should be really hey!
You are going to have to go there Gary – I can tell by looking at Li’s cake that it would not survive airmail – unless you want to lick the inside of the padded envelope??
My fork is poised to dive into this delicious looking cake.
