What Will You Bake?

Have you decided what you will bake?

The challenge is to bake a sandwich sponge cake for…

  • Your cake must have at least two layers
  • Your sponge cakes can be any flavour and any colour
  • You can fill you sandwich cake with any filling you like
  • We would like you to decorate the top of your cake

Please send a photo of your bake to the following e-mail address with the subject BAKE-OFF:

We can’t wait to see your bakes! If you are not sure what to bake, to give you some inspiration, here are a few ideas.

The first is an amazing cake from our GREAT BLOGGERS’ BAKE-OFF judge A Jeanne in the Kitchen. There is a link below to Jeanne’s post with a step by step guide as to how she made this beautiful cake “cassata alla siciliana” (italian mascarpone cake with toasted almonds).

Or perhaps you prefer to stick with the classic Victoria sandwich cake – can’t go wrong with some jam and cream in between two delicious layers of sponge.

For those who don’t have a sweet tooth and don’t like cake – here is a very different type of sandwich cake:

We would love all bloggers to feel welcome to get involved. We know there are some brilliant bakers out there, but if you are not a frequent baker and want to keep life simple, then of course do whatever you can.

Whatever you do, please do enjoy THE GREAT BLOGGERS’ BAKE-OFF!!!

  1. Yummo! I won’t be making a fancy cake because I need to transport my final product by car one way to pick up a friend and then swoop a whole different way to take us to game night. I’ll do something though!

    1. I totally understand. I have sometimes gone a but overboard at home and then had to figure out how to get my creation across London on a packed bus or underground train. This is why brownies were created.

    1. That’s great Michelle! 🙂

It’s completely up to you Michelle. So far bloggers have just sent us a photo which is all we asked for and we are going to feature all the photos on Sunday.

But we mentioned in one of the posts that of course bloggers are welcome to create their own posts too. Some of the bloggers involved would want to do that naturally as they have baking blogs, whereas some of the bloggers joining in are just going to to join in the fun.
