Afraid To Use It

296

She holds in her possession the key to her freedom

Her chance to escape the cage that holds her tight

Doubt creeps in as she contemplates the unknown

The dangers than may lurk beyond her prison

Believing she has control of her future life

Leaves her content and settled for the present

Better to stay within the safety of her bonds

Than risk falling victim to harm in the world outside

Holding the key to her release

But being afraid to use it

She will never be free

Without courage

      1. My pleasure. Would you mind leaving a link to your post in the comment section to be included in the roundup next week?

    1. This was my face at work today! I opened the safe to find something and there was a shiny key with a label on it saying “Melody’s key”. I picked it up wondering what is it for? Had to ring my manager who told me we have new keys to lock up.
