I did not have to work yesterday because of the over-time I did at the weekend.
So I spent the day with a really good friend. It was a lovely day, graced with lots of tea and cake. In the evening, she asked me if I wanted to choose one of her DVDs to watch. I looked through and was pleased to see a film I was sure I would enjoy. “Miss Potter”, the story of Beatrix Potter starring Renee Zellweger.
It was perfect. As well as the heart-lifting scenery and the charming story of how her books came to be published, I also watched attentively at the very sad challenge she faced. I don’t want to ruin the film for anyone who has not seen it by stating what happens. But it is a lovely lovely film, but you will need a box of tissues nearby when you watch it.
Since we watched it I have been singing this beautiful song that features on the soundtrack and it is doing a great job of easing some of this pain:
I loved watching this movie.

One of my favourites. I remember when we saw it at the cinema having no idea of her story (her personal life I mean) the whole row of us were all teary-eyed. We loved it!

It was where I was introduced to her work. A beautiful story.
