The song that came into my head straight away was “SOUL MAN”…
Comin’ to you on a dust road
Good lovin’, I got a truck load
And when you get it, you got something
So don’t worry, cause I’m coming
I’m a soul man, I’m a soul man
I’m a soul man, I’m a soul man, I’ve got it all
Got what I got the hard way
And I’ll make it better each and every day
So honey, don’t you fret
Cause you ain’t seen nothing yet
I’m a soul man, I’m a soul man, play it Steve
I’m a soul man, I’m a soul man
I was brought up on a side street, listen now
I learned how to love before I could eat
I was educated from good stock
When I start lovin’, oh, I can’t stop
I’m a soul man, I’m a soul man
I’m a soul man, I’m a soul man
Well, grab the rope and I’ll pull you in
Give you hope and be your only boyfriend
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I’m talkin’ about a soul man
I’m a soul man, and you’re a soul man
I’m a soul man, oh no, soul man
I’m a soul man, and you’re a soul man
And you’re a soul man…
“Soul Man” – written / composed by Isaac Hayes and David Porter

There is something very great about their song isn’t there! I was dancing around listening to it last night.

Ha! This is one of the first songs that popped into my head as well. Am thinking of using it for battle of the bands this week – nothing definite yet, but it’s one of the top choices so far.

Battle of the band is a type of blog hop similar to this one, but it is only done twice a month – on the 1st and the 15th of each month. Typically, it is two (sometimes three) covers of a song that we post and people comment which contender or cover they prefer. Everyone that participates chooses their own pairings for their readers to choose from. It’s really a lot of fun. You should check out http://stmccpresentsbattleofthebands.blogspot.com for more information. If you want to join in, just add a comment on Stephen’s blog and he will add you to his list of participants.

It will be there all day – trust me! I know from experience! The only way to get rid of it is to play ABBA songs – so you have to ask yourself which is the preferred option?

Good question……thinking Soul Man. Wasn’t much of an ABBA fan back in the day.

This is the first time that I ever listened to anything other than the radio version of this song and I thought it was pretty cool.

Love this song!
There’s a local man that performs this song at entertainment venues from time to time. I think it’s his signature song, as he sings it every time, and does a wonderful job of it. 🙂
