What does a million calories even look like? Why am I asking? Because of a news report I have been reading more about.
I am impressed! Very impressed! I am a swimmer. I swam competitively throughout my youth. But this man has done something that every swimmer will be congratulating and applauding him for!
His name is Ross Edgley. He is from Grantham in Lincolnshire. He has just finished a mammoth swim of 1,780 miles around Great Britain – which is rather phenomenal.
Apparently he has consumed over a million calories during his time out at sea in order to fuel his incredible journey.
Here is one of the many reports about his achievement from the BBC News Website:
That’s great! I’d just take a nap if I consumed so many calories ๐

And if it were I, I would be thinking immediately for replacing those million calories!๐

A pretty amazing feat for sure. Although, just from reading the short article, the swim seems to have had a few negative effects on his body. A million calories! Often it feels like I’ve eaten that many after getting up from the dinner table after a Christmas dinner.

I have a friend who is so lovely, but she invites over to dinner and she fills up our plates with the most ridiculous amount of food rather than having serving dishes on the table. I can’t eat half of what she puts out on the plate for us – I think I would end up in hospital if I tried!
