Take My Hand, Take My Whole Life Too

IMG_1345I hope I am not breaking any rules or blogging etiquette with what I am about to do by posting a second post for “SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY”. Today’s theme is take/taking… as you can see in the post from Helen Vahdati, the creator of This Thing Called Life One Word at a Time:

Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 11/4/18

The thing is…I went with my first choice song “Take Another Little Piece Of My Heart Now Baby”. And I am glad I did, it feels right to go with your gut feeling is this case. But I have been keeping a close eye on all of the fantastic posts linked into “SONG-LYRIC-SUNDAY” today, and hoping so much that this song would be included.

I have a very beautiful memory of the first time Goldfinch took me back to the man-cave. He was staring into my eyes while this song was playing in the background. Only the version he played version was sang by male voice. Which male voice I do not know, because it was not Elvis Presley, Michael Bublé or Ali Campbell from UB40. So I am not sure which male voice was singing these extremely endearing lyrics.

Anyway – whoever sang it, I have to say it was a beautifully romantic moment…you know the type when you are sure everyone in the neighbourhood can hear your heart pounding. I am sure whenever I hear this song from now on, I will think of gorgeous Goldfinch!

Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can’t help falling in love with you

Shall I stay? Would it be a sin
If I can’t help falling in love with you?

Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be

Take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can’t help falling in love with you

Oh, like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be

Oh, take my hand, take my whole life too
For I can’t help falling in love with you
Oh, ooh, oh, for I, I can’t help falling in love with you

Can’t Help Falling in Love” is a song originally recorded by Elvis Presley, but covered by others including UB40 and Michael Bublé, and of course Haley Weinhart.

It was written by Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore, and George David Weiss.
