Investigating Lingering Feelings That Lay Just Below The Surface

I was lolloping down the hill to my lovely new job today when I suddenly felt an incredible burst of pain flood my chest and throat and tears started streaming down my face.  I know what had caused it…thoughts of my ex-flatmate.  I think I need to take a break from working on the posts in my drafts folder for now.  Let myself build back up before I carry on working on them.

That’s the only challenge in choosing to write about “stuff” you still have not worked out in your own head and heart quite yet…the investigation and analyses can be a rather unsettling process.

But it’s alright…we will just shelve him for a while.

Very lovely blogger   the britchy one  the britchy one  took the time to send some very kind comments in response to one of my posts about him a couple of days ago.  While I was working I kept on thinking about her helpful words.  It’s a lovely plus of blogging that you end up receiving support from bloggers in so many unexpected ways.

I saw the word prompts today very late…so this is my sleepy-headed little effort to contribute.

And I’m in so deep
You know I’m such a fool for you
You got me wrapped around your finger, uh-huh-huh
Do you have to let it linger?
Do you have to, do you have to
Do you have to let it linger?
And I’m in so deep
You know I’m such a fool for you
You got me wrapped around your finger, uh-huh-huh
Do you have to let it linger?
Do you have to, do you have to
Do you have to let it linger?

  1. I loved the Cranberries! Dolores O’Riordan has sure a pure voice, she’s a great loss sadly.
I fully support you shelving those blogs but writing about it IS good because it allows you a realisation of events that you miss otherwise. It helps you come to terms with it and ultimately to begin to heal. Just wait until you’re ready – or maybe write them on Fridays so you have the weekend for downtime!!
Either way, your readiness is the only deadline 😊

    1. Thank you 😃
Good idea…I do find it helps when I write about my ex-flatmate just before I see Goldfinch….he helps me get over it very quickly.
But a little break from thinking about him won’t be a bad thing. Lots of other great stuff to write about.

  2. I’m so happy that you found my prompt and shared this with us. The support of bloggers is key. When you start writing about other things, perspective will slip in and settle your heart and mind. Prompts are a great way to challenge yourself to write about something new, something different. Cheers.

    1. Thank you…I must admit the word-prompts are a really helpful to focus my thoughts on one aspect and have a moderately lengthened post. Otherwise I think I would be waffling and rambling on and on…
